The Dance curriculum commences in Grade 9 where students are taught basic technique using a variety of dance forms, including ballet, modern dance and jazz. At every grade level, students take increasingly demanding daily technique classes to improve posture, placement, musicality and vocabulary. Dance etiquette, anatomy, nutrition, and health related issues are important aspects of the program. Performance and compositional skills are polished as students execute choreographed pieces and present their own works. From Grade 9 onward, senior students (gr. 11&12) may be enrolled in either Comprehensive Dance or Performance Dance, with the latter being reserved for students who have demonstrated considerable technical proficiency and other related requisite dance skills and attitudes.

Note: Audition or permission from teacher is required for entry into Performance Dance.
